What a truly wonderful place. We only stopped one night but we had an amazing stay. Our room was just beautiful packed with original features and the bed was super comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast during our stay and both were delicious. Our hosts were fantastic, naked us welcome & were very friendly. We had a drink with them on the Friday night with lots of laughs and they were all great company. You can tell they love what they do from their attention to detail and great service. We will definitely be returning. Thanks guys and gals

Didn't stay but stopped for a truly fantastic meal on the way back from a day trip out. Best meal of our holiday. Great service. Un-rushed but not slow. Perfect. Go. You won't regret it.

Great food in a lovely pub and restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem just outside of Newtown in a village called Dolfor.
Lovely country bar and restaurant with wood burner, comfy seating in the bar area, and restaurant. Lots of lovely country beams everywhere, plenty of parking, either out front or in the carpark to the left of the property. In the sun, there's outdoor seating on the decking (to the front right of the property), and a few pub bench-and- table set ups in the front centre outside.
Make sure you're hungry! I would recommend either the deep-fried brie, goats cheese tart, or the wontons with black pudding or the roquefort and apple salad for starters. For mains: either the lamb shank, liver and bacon or the seabass fillets. For dessert, the cheesecake and raspberry ice cream served in an ice-cream glass was a sweet toothed persons heaven, and the creme brulee is the ideal dessert for the less sweet toothed!
Drinks - wise, we had a few pints of Madri, a few glasses of Pacamaya Merlot, a couple of pints of Caffreys (on tap), and a few glasses of Paparuda Rose. Also a Tia Maria calypso coffee!
Everything was perfectly served, didn't have to wait for hours, and it seemed like they had just the right amount of time between courses, and kept us in drinks, but not overly so.
Will definitely be going back!
Rooms: Haven't seen the rooms as we are relatively local, but judging by the bar and restaurant and toilets, I would imagine they are well kept, tidy and fairly modern, probably with en-suites.

Noteworthy details: For a place that has only been running for 19 months - ish, the lovely trio that owns and runs the place - have done a tremendous job inside and out. It's a proper old country pub/ restaurant with comfy seating and lots of beams, but also modern things like a tv in the bar area and good wifi. The Dolfor Inn is a real hidden gem and is a must visit food and drink destination, and I hear good things about the rooms but haven't stayed in one (as I am pretty local). Looking forward to our next visit!

What a lovely place to stay, the room was nice and spacious, and a lovely bathroom. The people who run it are so friendly and nice. Breakfast the following morning was lovely. We are definitely going back, and would recommend other people to book to stay.

Lovely little pub. In a very quiet location which suited us for a relaxing evening. Small but good selection of beers. The wine I had with my meal was excellent.
Food was all homemade, was delicious and served by the enthusiastic landlord.
Breakfast was fantastic and superb value for money. Dare I say that it was actually too much. We didn't have the Sunday lunch we had planned afterwards!
We will be back when we're in that direction again.

I stayed at the Dolfor Inn for two nights this past June and had a great experience.
The place is very well kept, recently upgraded and renovated, my room was fresh and had a new bathroom. Waking up hearing the quiet countryside sounds and the sheep was like heaven. The food and accommodations exceeded my expectations, especially for the reasonable prices. These people care about their business and it shows.
The hospitality was top notch, I checked in a bit late and Susie welcomed me and made sure I was able to get some food before the kitchen closed.
We spent time after the place closed just talking with Steve, George and Susie and they were great hosts, made my friend and I feel like we were at home.
Breakfast was delicious, and made to order (just help them out by picking what you want the night before).
They accommodated my motorcycle in their spacious garage too which was appreciated.
I look forward to returning soon!

Stayed for 2 nights, the owners were pleasant, polite and helpful from the moment we checked in.
Beautiful room with a good view and large comfortable bed.
Lovely breakfast, with a good choice. Main meal was excellent, not just normal run of the mill “pub grub”.

Lovely little place in a tiny village. Ideal for a quiet stay. Landlords are very welcoming. Food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented and delicious.
The newly decorated bar is quiet and comfy.
Breakfast was so big that we didn't stop for Sunday lunch on the way home!
Food & drinks: Homemade dishes, freshly prepared, beautifully presented and served with enthusiasm!
